Kuro (黒) — Matcha Ritual Set, Black Edition
Kuro means black. The bowl is glazed in deep black with a soft speckle across the surface, finished with an unglazed foot ring underneath. Paired with a natural bamboo whisk and a polished steel scoop, it brings together everything you need to make matcha at home.
The set is built for everyday use. The wide, rounded bowl gives your whisk room to move, the chasen builds a light, velvety froth, and the scoop measures exactly one bowl's worth, so there's no need for a scale.
Kuro is the simplest set in our Matcha Ritual range and the easiest place to start. Add our Uji matcha and your daily ritual is ready.

How to use
How to use
Add one scoop (3g) of matcha to the bowl, then pour in hot water at around 75–80°C.
Whisk briskly with the chasen in an “M” or “W” motion for about 20 seconds, until a fine froth forms on the surface. The bowl’s wide, rounded interior gives the whisk room to move.
💡 Tip: For a café-style latte, whisk your matcha first, then pour it over cold milk and ice.
Care & Storage
Care & Storage
- Bowl: hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry fully before storing.
- Chasen: rinse in warm water after each use, no soap. Not dishwasher safe. Air dry, ideally on a whisk holder so the prongs keep their shape.
- Scoop: rinse and dry after use to keep the polished finish.
