The Jay is La Marzocco's commercial grinder, built for simplicity and precision and engineered to remove every obstacle between the barista and the shot. No touchscreen theatrics: three physical buttons, a clean display, an analogue grind dial, and a body that looks at home next to any La Marzocco espresso machine.
Underneath sits serious engineering. 68mm flat burrs with an uninterrupted cutting surface grind up to 15% more efficiently than traditional designs, delivering a typical 18-gram dose in under five seconds. The grinding chamber tilts at 45 degrees to hold less than two grams of retention, and a patented alignment system keeps the burrs perfectly parallel every time they are changed. It is the fastest route from bean to basket La Marzocco has ever built.
Magnetic Burr Holder
A first for La Marzocco: the burr assembly attaches magnetically and can be removed in just seconds, tool-free, using the portafilter holder as the lever. Deep cleaning between roasts becomes a between-rushes job, not a closing-time chore.
Uninterrupted Cutting Surface
The burrs are crafted by La Marzocco from high-quality, hardened steel and mounted from the back, free of screw holes on the grinding face. More cutting surface means faster, cooler, more consistent grinding through the busiest service.
Intuitive Interface
Two programmable timed doses and a continuous-grind button, adjusted in seconds by holding the button you want to change. A portafilter-actuated switch enables one-handed operation, keeping the workflow moving.
Grind-by-Weight Connectivity
Pair the Jay with the optional La Marzocco Connected Scale for grind-by-weight accuracy, managed from the grinder or the La Marzocco app. If the scale comes off for charging, the Jay carries on in timed mode using your last grind-by-weight dose, continuing right where you left off.
Built for the Bar
The grinding chamber is made entirely from stainless steel, the hopper closes automatically when removed so beans never spill mid-swap, and the low-profile form keeps sightlines open between barista and customer.
