Overview
Tradition. Craft. Ritual.
Handcrafted in Japan, this Chasen embodies the precision and grace of true matcha preparation. Made from a single piece of solid bamboo, each whisk is shaped by artisans to balance flexibility and strength, producing the fine prongs that transform matcha into a smooth, velvety froth.
Beyond its function, the chasen represents a quiet ceremony — a bridge between movement and mindfulness. Over time, its tone deepens and character evolves, becoming a personal artifact of your daily ritual.
How to use
How to use
- Soak the whisk in warm water for 30–60 seconds before each use to soften the tines and prevent breakage.
- Add sifted matcha to your chawan, then pour in 70–80°C water.
- Whisk briskly in an “M” or “W” motion with a light wrist until a fine, even froth forms.
- After whisking, rinse immediately under warm water to remove any residue.
💡 Tip: Use a chasen holder to preserve the whisk’s shape and allow it to dry evenly.
Care & Maintenance
Care & Maintenance
• Hand-wash only — never use soap or a dishwasher.
• After rinsing, gently shake off excess water and place on a whisk holder (chasen-naoshi) to air-dry.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or humidity.
• Do not leave the whisk standing in water, as prolonged moisture may cause warping or cracking.
