Overview
Overview
ERA’s Hojicha is a celebration of warmth, balance, and quiet craftsmanship. Made from the first harvest of tender tea stems and roasted in small batches in Uji, Kyoto, it embodies a deep sense of refinement and calm. Each batch reveals layers of caramel, roasted nuts, and soft cocoa, unfolding into a smooth, naturally sweet cup that comforts without overwhelming.
Sourced directly from a sixth-generation Kyoto tea farm, this Hojicha reflects over a century and a half of dedication to the art of Japanese tea. Through careful roasting and direct trade collaboration, we preserve not only the flavor but the integrity of its origin — ensuring that every sip carries both history and harmony.
Balanced, grounding, and low in caffeine, it’s designed for daily enjoyment — a tea that transforms simplicity into quiet luxury.
Preparation Guide
Preparation Guide
- Boil 60 ml of water to around 80 °C.
- Scoop 3–4 grams of Hojicha powder into your bowl.
- Whisk gently using a bamboo chasen in a slow “W” motion until the powder is fully dissolved and a light froth forms on the surface — your Hojicha is ready to enjoy.
- For a Hojicha latte, add 130 ml of warm or steamed milk (oat milk pairs beautifully) and whisk again for a smooth, roasted, caramel-like finish.
Care & Storage
Care & Storage
• Store your Hojicha in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture to maintain its roasted aroma and natural sweetness.
• Once opened, keep it tightly sealed in its original tin or an airtight container to prevent exposure to air.
• For best freshness and flavor, consume within 90 days of opening.
• Avoid using wet or damp utensils when scooping to prevent clumping or loss of aroma.
💡 Tip: Because Hojicha is delicately roasted, it easily absorbs nearby scents — store it separately from spices or strong-smelling foods to preserve its clean, toasty fragrance.
